      Appian quotes the following edict apparently issued by Marcus Aemilius Lepidus, the triumvir, concerning his exploits in Spain and decreeing a celebration therefor.
 

 
ENGLISH TRANSLATION.
 

 
      With Good Fortune.
      It shall be proclaimed to all men and to all women that they sacrifice and feast throughout the present day.
      Whoever does not appear to do these things shall be among the proscribed.
