edict, on papyrus reported in 1893, of the prefect of Egypt was sent
with a covering letter to the strategus of the Arsinoite nome, where
the posting of the edict was ordered. |

Lucius
Lusius Geta proclaims : Since the priests of the Arsinoite god, Socnopaeus, have appealed to me that they are being forced to work in the fields, I release them from this duty. If it is proved that anyone has voided my decisions or my orders or has wished to render them doubtful, he shall be fined or shall receive corporal punishment to the full extent of the penalty.
